NYcars.com Integrates Auto Shopping Service With WTVH-5 Web Site

SYRACUSE & UTICA, NEW YORK -- November 16, 1999 -- CBS affiliate WTVH-5, a Granite Broadcasting company, and NYcars.com "Central New York's Internet Auto Source," launched an integrated automotive shopping service in late October. Visitors to WTVH-5's Web site (www.wtvh.com) can search NYcars.com's automotive databases and view information and photos of approximately 800 used vehicles and 21 makes of new vehicles from more than 25 Central New York dealerships.

"We're very pleased to partner with WTVH-5. They provide timely and relevant regional content to their visitors. And they do an excellent job of promoting their Web site," NYcars.com president, Matthew Bramble said. "This is a great opportunity for NYcars.com and our Member Dealers, as we expand into the Syracuse market and broaden our reach to local consumers."

The WTVH-5 Web site is one of the busiest in Central New York, delivering over 140,00 page views monthly. The site offers updated local news, weather and sports that are updated throughout the day. It is the only site in Central New York to broadcast news live over the Internet five times daily. The station, whose broadcast signal reaches almost 80 percent of 612,000 households in the region, aggressively promotes the site.

"Having NYcars.com's new and used vehicle listings on our site gives our visitors an easy way to gather information and shop for cars from area dealers," said Gary Macko, WTVH-5 sales manager. "Because they are a regional service, all the cars in their database are located here in Central New York."

NYcars.com's search engine recently was redesigned. It now has a more intuitive design and more search criteria from which to choose. The redesign better allows for partnering and co-branding with other Internet properties.

NYcars.com Web Site Features

NYcars.com's Web site (www.nycars.com) also was redesigned, and offers some new features. The site has expanded its editorial content. Each month, original editorials on automotive topics and a selected automotive Web site are featured. Coming in November are monthly new-car test drives.

The site now features an interactive automotive discussion board in connection with the show, "AutoTalk." The show is hosted every Saturday morning by Ed Welsh on the Mohawk Valley's NewsRadio 950 WIBX. During a segment of each show, NYcars.com president, Matthew Bramble, fields listeners' call-in questions.
