AutoTalk - Featured Discussion Ed Welsh - 25 Sep - 08:04 AM According to a recent study by the New England Journal of Medicine, your chance of having an accident while driving and using your cell phone simultaneously is about the same as driving with your blood alcohol level at the legal limit.
As a result of this news, a new bill has been proposed by State Senator Leonard Stavisky (D - Queens), that would make driving while using a cellular phone a traffic infraction after the first 60 seconds. But is it the phones or the people that cause the problem? Is such a law even enforceable? More about this problem and the pending bill can be found in my Automotive Editorial, Talking and Driving, Is it a Crime?
This discussion will be featured on my AutoTalk radio show heard on NewsRadio, 950 WIBX from 8 A.M. to 10 A.M. every Saturday. Please share with us your experiences and opinions about the purposed legislation.
